The announcement of the construction of a hospital in Vaudreuil-Soulanges

In parliamentary committee, Health Minister Gaétan Barrette made interesting revelations for Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
For several months now, elected officials have been examining the parliamentary committee on the detailed study of Bill 10 (An Act to modify the organization and governance of the health and social services network, in particular by abolishing regional agencies).
Recall that this bill aims, in particular, to abolish Health and Social Services Agencies and Health and Social Services Centers (CSSS) in order to create Integrated Health and Social Services Centers (CISSS). These new bodies were to be restricted to 18 across the province. For example, in the initial project, Montérégie had to be grouped under a single

CISSS. The number had increased to two by the end of 2014. The first CISSS would have its head office at the Pierre-Boucher hospital and the other at the Charles-Lemoyne hospital center.
However, an assertion made by Minister Barrette in a parliamentary committee on January 23 last year suggests that the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region would not only see the construction of a hospital center, but also that this structure would eventually serve as the head office of a third CISSS in Montérégie, that of Montéregie-Ouest. Initially, the head office would be located in Châteauguay.
More specifically, Gaétan Barrette says that “eventually, in the west, it will be Vaudreuil [sic]”. A participant then replies “Vaudreuil-Soulanges...” to which the minister added, “Eventually, there, because it will be the biggest hospital.”
The parliamentary committee on Bill 10 is not over and when the law will be implemented is not yet known. It should also be noted that the statement was not made in an electoral context but in an exchange between elected officials.
