A new website for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital Foundation

The second edition of the Cultivate your web 2.0 initiative, an initiative of the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi Vaudreuil-Soulanges, allowed the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Hospital Foundation to completely redesign its website. The project was led by Philippe Corriveau from Tofubox and a few young people aged between 18 and 35.
The non-profit organization's new website was unveiled this Tuesday, November 7 during a happy hour event that took place at the CJE VS premises in Vaudreuil-Dorion. This meeting aimed to unveil the new visual identity of the Foundation, but also to thank the people involved in creating it.
It was last year, in 2022, that the Cultivate your web 2.0 project was launched within the CJE VS. The approach consists, for a group of young people who are curious and interested in the digital universe aged between 18 and 35, to create the website of an NPO. During the first edition, Atelier Paysan was able to benefit from the talent of young creators who participated in the program under the good advice of Philippe Corriveau from the Tofubox company.
A 2nd edition launched at the end of 2022
The second edition was launched in December 2022 while the procedures were launched to find the organization benefiting from a new website.
” The objective of the project is to enable young people aged 18 to 35 to develop their skills in order to better integrate into the job market later on. In total, nine young people started the project and six completed it and participated, from A to Z, in the creation of the website by going through all the stages ranging from meeting the customer to target needs, to developing the tree structure, writing the texts to putting the final product online. ” said Mr. Corriveau.
By getting involved in the project, the young people committed to meeting once a week, for 12 weeks, with Philippe Corriveau, in the premises of the CJE VS to give birth to the new visual signature. The youth project manager at the CJE VS at the time, Jonathan Champagne, also supervised the process.
” We are very proud of the result and it is certain that a third edition will see the light of day. ”, confirmed the managing director of the CJE VS, Jessica Myre. In the past, the call for non-profit organizations was launched in December and it is in May, June and July that young participants let their digital creativity speak for themselves.
A great experience for Philippe Corriveau and the participants
” It was a really great experience. It is an interesting project that links non-profit organizations, a private company (Tofu Box) and young people aged 18 to 35 who are curious to learn and discover this profession that is mine. I founded Tofubox in 2002 and the company has been present in the region since 2005 and I am still happy, almost 20 years later, to share my passion with the new generation. In this project, young people were able to learn more about the network cloud and how text is as important as images. They also understood why some ideas were chosen over others. ”, underlined the project's grandmaster.
Two of the six young people who completed the adventure of this second edition of Cultivate your web 2.0., Maude and Josh also took part in the first edition. ” They have been leaders for the group through their hard and hard work. Thank you. ”
What did they enjoy the most about the experience? For Josh, it's writing, a medium he's passionate about. For Maude, it's the development of the site. “I enjoyed building the infrastructure like the blocks with Philippe's help. I did it less the first time ”, confided the young woman who works alongside Philippe Corriveau at Tofubox as a graphic designer.
Despite its short existence, Cultivate your web 2.0. has already had an impact on the lives of participants. In the case of Maude, she had already started the process of studying graphic design before collaborating on the first edition of the project. When she finished this one, she had her diploma in her pocket. ” One of the participants decided to study programming while another was in the process of designing a website for her company during her participation. She was able to apply the concepts she saw in class to her personal project. ”, he imagined.
For his part, Denis Lapointe, Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors, welcomed the participation of young people and was very proud of the final result. ” The CJE plays an important role in the lives of young people and in their development. Bravo! ”, he concluded.
